Linda Dupont of Easley, S.C., lost her loving husband and caregiver, Richard, on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2019. He was 64.
Richard was a kind, attentive partner who drove his musician wife to countless rehearsals and concerts over the years all over Upstate South Carolina -- endearing himself to her orchestra and band mates along the way. He was funny, patient and always ready to lend a hand.
Linda, who plays oboe beautifully with five Upstate groups, has limited mobility and relied on Richard.
So did we, her fellow members of the Anderson Symphony Orchestra in South Carolina.
Richard was, to us, an honorary member, a reassuring presence every time we played together.
Richard and Linda, who met at a Bible study class at her house three decades ago, celebrated their 28th anniversary this week and were looking forward to many happy years together with their birds and dogs.
He was, she said, the love of her life. He was her only family and her best friend. They did everything together.
Now Linda needs us.
We are asking for help in organizing Richard's memorial service and incidental unexpected costs that Linda will face in the wake of his loss. All money raised will go to Linda to cover those expenses and lessen some of that burden.
She has a lot of tough decisions to make, and we appreciate any amount you can give, however small.
