Family displaced by The Camp Fire

Donation protected

Dear friends and family,

This fund has been set up in response to so many of you who have asked how you can help.  We greatly appreciate the support.

As many of you know 6 of our family members, Jodi, Sean, Melissa, baby Leona, Midge and Amiee, were all forced to flee their homes when the Camp Fire tore through Paradise California.  While questions still remain on a couple of their homes if there might be anything left or salvageable, all 3 households are  permanently displaced as virtually the entire town of Paradise has been wiped out.  What they need most right now is to find a new place to call home.

If you've seen any of the video footage on television you'll know the harrowing experience people went through.  Susan was on the phone with Jodi throughout her drive down the hill and she truly thought she would die that day.  She drove through flames as the  temperature in her car became almost intolerable.  Instead of packing up her personal belongings, Jodi used the time she had to load her van with the 20 dogs she fosters as well as 4 of her own while stamping out embers that were falling all around her.  She made it out with her dogs, her purse and the clothes on her back.

Sean left his construction job in Chico and drove towards the fire in Paradise to save Melissa and their 1 year old who were without a car.  After  being turned away by police at one checkpoint, he threw on his hard hat and construction vest to make himself look official and was able to make it through a check point on a different road.
When he got to Paradise he helped Aunt Midge and Cousin Aimee, who is wheelchair bound, to make their escape.  He then helped an elderly couple load their dog in the car before loading up his family and dogs.
Had Sean not been so determined and quick thinking there's a good chance the outcome could have been much worse.
They are now amongst the many displaced people in the Chico area staying with friends trying to figure out what to do next. Needless to say there is an immediate need for housing in the area.

This go fund me page has been set up for those of you who would like to donate directly to a family needing assistance.

This is written with love and a heartfelt thank you to everyone.
