Tatiana A. Tagirova, a forty four year old single mother of one, is in desperate need of a kidney donor and kidney transplant. In 1993, at age 20, she moved to the United States from St. Petersburg, Russia to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Bible and a Master’s degree in Education from Cairn University in Pennsylvania. She went on to obtain her Ph.D. in Caribbean Literature at the University of Puerto Rico. For the past fifteen years she has been teaching college at the University of Puerto Rico, Elizabeth City State University, and College of the Albemarle in Manteo, North Carolina. She is also the author of two books and several scholarly articles. She is currently residing with her fifteen year old son, Ruperto, in Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina. While she is proud of her academic accomplishments, nothing can be compared to being a mom and her desire to live to see her son grow into a man. Her father died from the same kidney disease that she has, polycystic kidney disease at the age of 53. Please help to create a different story for Tatiana and her son who plans to become a medical doctor and wants his mom to be there for him when he does this. At the moment Tatiana is only able to work part time and she hopes to find a donor to have a kidney transplant so she can return to normal life and a full-time job.
