Hi, my name is Joe Romualdi.

For over 35 years, I wore a badge. I walked into homes, schools, and communities as a police officer. I saw things that broke my heart—things I can never forget.

Early in my career, within my first four years as a rookie patrol officer, I was called to investigate the murder of a woman in her late seventies. That moment changed everything for me.

From that day forward, I made it my mission to pursue cases where the most vulnerable in our society—especially seniors—had been harmed. I worked those cases diligently, driven by a deep sense of responsibility and compassion. I've also been the one to answer wellness checks, only to discover a senior who had passed away days earlier, with no one knowing what had happened. I've held the hands of people who had no one left. Those moments have stayed with me, shaping my life's purpose and fueling a promise I made: to do everything in my power to protect them.

That commitment never stopped—not after I retired. It simply evolved.

Today, I'm asking for your help.

The Problem

Right here in Barrie and Innisfil, there are seniors living alone. They don't have family nearby. They can't afford assisted living. They're not in long-term care facilities. They're just... alone. And they're struggling.

They're worried about falling and having no one to hear them call for help. They're anxious about managing their medications. They're scared of scams and fraud. They're isolated, sometimes going days without a meaningful conversation. And they're doing it all on fixed incomes that barely cover rent and groceries.

These are our neighbors. Our community members. People who built this town. And they deserve better.

The Solution

Over four years ago, I created Casa Pulita Cleaning & Concierge because I was frustrated watching seniors struggle with the basic needs of maintaining their homes and their independence.

I built a business dedicated to serving them with integrity, reliability, and genuine care. Every service we provide—every cleaning, every errand, every moment of support—is rooted in my commitment to help seniors live safely and with dignity in their own homes.

Recently, I took that commitment further. I created the Ageing-at-Home Support & Advocacy Program (ASAP)—because I realized that cleaning and practical support, while essential, weren't enough. Seniors needed an advocate. Someone in their corner. Someone fighting for them.

ASAP is different. It's not clinical. It's not cold. It's personal. It's what I wish had existed for every senior I met during my 35 years in law enforcement.

Here's what we do:

We start with a comprehensive safety assessment of their home. We identify fall risks, accessibility issues, emergency preparedness gaps. We listen to their concerns—really listen.

Then, we connect them with a trained wellness advocate who checks in with them regularly. Not just a quick phone call. A real conversation. Someone who knows their name, their story, their worries. Someone who cares.

We help them navigate the confusing world of government benefits, medical appointments, and bureaucratic forms. We teach them how to spot scams and protect themselves from fraud. We organize their homes, help with light housekeeping, remind them to take their medications, and make sure they have what they need to live safely and with dignity.

But here's what makes ASAP truly different: we advocate for them. When a contractor—a snow removal company, a plumber, anyone—takes advantage of a senior, we step in. We fight for fair treatment. We hold people accountable.

In one recent case where we were attending daily for the assistance and support one of our clients needed, I advocated on his behalf to get him four days of homecare assistance- advocating me out of four days of work. When a senior qualifies for government programs to pay for care above and beyond what we provide, we navigate that system for them. We make sure they get every benefit they're entitled to. We don't just help them survive—we help them thrive. Afterall, when it comes to senior citizens and the most vulnerable of our communities, it has never been about me, ever. It is always what is best for them.

And we give them—and their families—peace of mind. A medical alert system. Regular wellness check-ins. Someone who's watching out for them. Someone who sees them. Someone who will fight for them.

Why This Matters

I've spent my life protecting people. That instinct doesn't go away just because I handed in my badge. It's gotten stronger.

Every senior we help through ASAP is someone's mother, father, grandmother, grandfather. They're people who contributed to our community. They worked hard. They raised families. They deserve to age with safety, comfort, and dignity—not fear, isolation, and neglect.

When we check in on a senior and catch that they're not eating properly, we can help. When we notice signs of cognitive decline, we can connect them with resources. When they're being taken advantage of, we advocate. When they're lonely, we're there. When they're scared, we listen. When they're in danger, we act.

This is what it means to truly care for our community.

Your Impact

For just $600, you can sponsor one senior for an entire year.

But I know $600 is a lot for many people. If you can't afford to sponsor a senior for a full year, consider sponsoring them for a month—just $50. Sponsor one month, two months, three months, whatever you can manage. Every single month makes a difference in a senior's life.

If you can give $50, you can give a senior safety, support, and dignity for a month. Together, we can reach our goal of $60,000 and help 100 seniors in our community.

Here's what your donation provides:

One Year of ASAP Basic Care Plan — Two wellness check-ins every week. Personalized support and advocacy when required. Someone who knows them, cares about them, and is watching out for them.

Comprehensive Safety & Needs Assessment — A thorough evaluation of their home, their health, their risks, and their goals. A real plan to keep them safe.

5% Discount on All Casa Pulita Services — Help with the things that become harder as we age. Light housekeeping. Organizing. Errands. Cleaning and concierge services that allow them to stay in their home, independent and dignified.

And to match your generosity, Casa Pulita will provide:

Life Assure Home Medical Alert System for One Year — A lifeline in their pocket. If they fall, if they need help, one button connects them to emergency services and their loved ones.

Waived $89 Setup Fee — We cover the cost of onboarding so every dollar of your donation goes directly to care.

And we will match that 5% Discount with an additional 10% Discount on all our cleaning and concierge services.

$50 a month for the ASAP Basic Care Plan. $50 a month for the Life Assure Medical Alert System. Together, $100 a month of support, safety, and peace of mind. Or $600 for a full year. One senior's life transformed.

Our Goal

We want to reach 100 seniors in Barrie and Innisfil who can't afford this support on their own. Seniors who are living alone, struggling, and deserve a chance to age safely and with dignity.

That's $60,000.

It sounds like a lot. But break it down: $600 per senior. One year of safety, connection, and peace of mind. One year of someone caring. One year of knowing they're not alone.

Why Me? Why Now?

I've spent my life in service. As a police officer, I protected people from harm. As an entrepreneur, I've built a business on trust, integrity, and putting people first. And now, through ASAP, I'm doing what I was always meant to do: protecting our most vulnerable.

I'm not asking for charity. I'm asking you to invest in your community. I'm asking you to help us build a safety net for people who have fallen through the cracks. I'm asking you to be part of something that matters.

Because here's what I learned in 35 years of law enforcement: when we show up for people, when we see them, when we care for them—everything changes. They feel less alone. They feel safer. They feel valued. They feel human.

And that's worth everything.

How You Can Help

Sponsor a senior for $600. Or sponsor them for a month for $50. Give what you can—every dollar goes directly to helping seniors in our community who need it most.

Share this with your friends, your family, your networks. Tell them about the seniors in Barrie and Innisfil who are waiting. Tell them about the difference $50 or $600 can make.

Together, we can reach 100 seniors. Together, we can ensure that no one in our community has to age alone, in fear, or without dignity.

The Promise

I made a promise 35 years ago when I was a young police officer, holding the hand of a senior who had no one. I promised I would do everything in my power to protect people like them.

This is me keeping that promise.

Will you help?

With gratitude and a full heart,

Joe Romualdi
