Help Save This Injured Kitten's Life
Don protégé
On our way to an overnight stay we see a kitten rolling around screaming on the side of the road.
So of course, we turned around to go get it. The poor kitty is so small and so scared. She was bloody and panting heavily. We found the homeowner and asked him if they were theirs, he said no and went back inside. I called back the SPCA to see if they could take her and they said no. We went to the closest vet we could find, but they were "too busy" to even look at her even though you could tell she was in distress and hurting. We called another vet, they would see her, but only to euthanize her. We called back the SPCA and asked them again to please just take her and stabilize her, that we would pay for it, but they still REFUSED to take her. They said the only thing they could think of was to go to the Olean emergency vet clinic 90 minutes away! My husband called another vet, and THANKFULLY, they were willing to see her. We were only 5 minutes away, so we went straight there. The whole staff there was very nice and seemed worried.
Finally, someone who cared.
The tech said she could take her if we didn't want her, but she already has 21 cats and 4 more that she's looking after. I said we just wanted someone to give her a chance, and she said "that's why I have so many, I'm always willing to give them a chance." They weren't sure if she would make it through the night due to the shock, but they were hopeful.
We called them back today and she did make it through the night, she has a broken tail that will need to be amputated and might have other issues.
This poor kitten. They estimate that she's 3-4 months old. She finally started to calm down after talking to her and holding her.
It took us an HOUR to find somewhere that would just LOOK at her. To give her a chance. FOUR vet offices didn't give a flying fuck. I was so upset.
So far she's doing well, but she's not out of the woods. She needs around the clock intensive care and her tail amputated.
If you can, please donate to help this kitty out.
If kitty doesn't survive, any moneys collected will be given to the vet tech who decided to take her in when no one else would who has 24 other cats that she's taking care of that no one else would give a chance.
