Lance Griffin Memorial Fund

The Griffin family is saddened about the sudden and unexpected death of Lance Yeaman Griffin, age 47. Lance started experiencing heart and colon issues in August 2014.  His heart issue seemed to be under control, but he continued to be challenged with stomach issues. Lance went in for a biopsy a few weeks ago to look at his colon.  Tests came back that he had an infection but no cancer in his system.  Lance scheduled colon surgery for Wed. Oct. 29, 2014.  The surgery was completed successfully, but as he was being transported from surgery to recovery, his heart went into arrest. Doctors spent approximately 30 minutes trying to restore his heart beat.  Lance was put into an induced coma, but things continued to deteriorate, and doctors were not able to recover Lance.  Due to Lance's young age, his brother Dayrol and his son Jordan had to make some very difficult and rapid decisions.  The good news is they were surrounded by friends and family at the hospital. This fund is being set up to help support Dayrol and Jordan with funeral expenses in their time of grief.  The celebration of Lance's life will be in November.  We will continue to update this site with information.  Any remaining funds will go toward an education fund for Jordan Griffin, age 18.  Thank you for your support of Lance’s family.
