***Update 1/25 - Gretchen has been healing from her double mastectomy but she recently found out that she now will undergo chemotherapy. With that discovery, we are going to raise the goal to help Gretchen and Mark with their medical bills.

How this all began...
She always has a smile. She always finds the positive in it all.
Sadly what Gretchen found in her breast has changed her life. Gretchen has been diagnosed with breast cancer.
The diagnosis was very recent after she found a lump in her breast. On January 11, she will undergo a double mastectomy. During this time, friends and family will cook meals, clean the house and keep life going for her son and husband as much as possible.
But what is mounting in the darkness are the medical bills. Since this is her first procedure at the beginning of a calendar year (insurance wise), bills will be piling in the minute she leaves the hospital. And breast cancer protocol is to expect many other procedures, treatments, expensive meds and more. So as her friends and co-workers, we put together this page to help Gretchen and Mark tackle those outrageous medical bills.
Healing should be Gretchen's #1 priority, so please help her heal without worry.
If you haven't heard the news until now, it's pretty overwhelming... how can a young, beautiful, fit mom and wife have cancer? It makes no sense. And that thinking is correct. None of us have the answer. And in times when we hear about beautiful souls like Gretchen having cancer we search for ways to help.
