Help Us Say Goodbye
If you knew her, you loved her.
It's that simple.
At the age of 20, Margaret Silverstein passed away in the early hours of Thursday, April 5, 2018.
We don't want to be asking for this. We shouldn't have to be asking for this. But we need some help.
Our sister always had a word of wisdom, a witty comment, and a gentle spirit. We miss her terribly.
We made funeral arrangements this morning. She will be cremated, and we will be doing a private memorial in our home. The cost for this is $3,000.
We are also each getting a piece of jewelry with her fingerprint on it. For eight of us: her four remaining sisters, three brothers, and mother, this will cost $1,500 (each piece costs between $200-$300).
Margaret had a way of making people feel special instantly, a real-life Disney princess. She was a wonderful baker and cook--one of our favorite recipes of hers was her broccoli and cheddar soup. She paid attention, always giving incredibly thoughtful gifts. She listened, able to see things that most other people didn't notice. She was incredibly kind and gracious.
We miss her horribly and we still can't believe this is real.
Even if you can't help financially, we'd like to hear your stories. We know she touched a lot of lives in profound ways during her short time on earth.
We (the remaining Silverstein siblings: Jessica, Elizabeth, Simeon, Samuel, Grace, David, and Rachel) will be responsible for the final expenses.
