Hello Family, Friends, Co-Workers and Supporters,

 

In the first week of August Daniel tested positive for Covid-19. On August 11th Daniel was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit at the Hospital of Central Connecticut. He was ultimately intubated on August 21st because his lungs were no longer functional. His condition continued to deteriorate and he was transferred to Hartford Hospital on August 23rd and was started on ECMO, which is the highest level of life support. Doctors told Dorota that the chances of survival were slim and to pray for a miracle. After over three weeks on ECMO, on September 16th Daniel was taken off of it. He is one of the only patients at Hartford Hospital with Covid-19 who got well enough to be able to come off the machine. Although he is still sedated and on a ventilator, we are hopeful that this is the beginning of him taking a turn for the better. Daniel's prognosis changes daily, which leads to a roller coaster of emotions. We ask that you all keep praying for his miracle.

 

We all know Dorota and Daniel are very giving people who have been there for each one of us in one way or another. This past September 14th marked their 8 year wedding anniversary. Although they were not able to celebrate we are hopeful that next year and many more years to come they can celebrate their commitment to each other and their family. They have created a beautiful life for their children, Nicholas and Christian, and have so many memories to still make.

 

We have realized that Daniel's hospitalization, missed work, and incoming bills will put a toll on his young family. Your donations will help Daniel and Dorota continue to pay their bills and assist with medical expenses. While prayers are needed the most, we appreciate any assistance you can give during this difficult time.
