Allyson McManus Wheelchair Van Fund
Donation protected
Hello Everyone,
My name is Allyson McManus, and I was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy as an infant. Over the years, I have learned to adapt well, and have obtained both a Bachelors and Masters degree. However, as I've gotten older, the chronic pain, and other issues related to my diagnosis have made me 100% wheelchair bound. It's become clear that the most difficult transfer for me to do on a daily basis is getting in and out of the car.
God blessed me with a wonderful husband, and we celebrated our ten year wedding anniversary in August of this year. He is retiring in a few months, and we have decided to move to Arizona. Our hope is that the dry weather will ease some of the pain I deal with.
The thing that would help us most is the ability to purchase a wheelchair van that is equipped with a lift/ ramp. This would enable me to to transfer in and out independently and without pain. It will also preserve my husband's physical health, as he will no longer need to take my manual chair in and out of the trunk.
This vehicle would be life changing for us, and we would be beyond grateful for any help we could receive in reaching our goal. Thank you and God bless you all!
