Giving Back to Miss Gay

This is one of my nearest and dearest friends, my sister, Gay Simpkins. On the evening of Thursday, November 4th, Miss Gay suffered her second stroke in less than 24 months. Thankfully , it was what the doctors call “small” but it’s effects on her have been profound. Her speech has been affected, as has the entire right side of her body. She will need extensive therapy and the doctors have already warned that healing will take time. She will be out of work for the foreseeable future, but, we all know the bills won’t stop. In fact, they will multiply significantly as the costs of her care mount. In addition, she was in the middle of relocating and this event has left her homeless.

Miss Gay has spent her life selflessly taking care of others. Those of you who work at DG know there is not a vehicle hit she hasn’t been involved in fixing in over 5 years. She is a true servant of the Lord and it is time for us to bless her as she has blessed so many of us, time and time again. Please consider donating, even the smallest amount will help. It will all add up and hopefully take one of the major stressors off her plate and allow her to focus on getting well. She has a long road ahead of her and I am determined she will not walk it alone.
