Give Dakota the Tools to Thrive With Autism

Hi, my name is Chris Ochoa, and I’m raising funds to support my beautiful son, Dakota. He’s 2 years old, has autism, and lights up our world with his unique way of seeing things. He loves organizing his toys, listening to music, and watching kid-friendly movie credits. He finds joy in the small details, and we love that about him.

Like many parents of children with autism, I’m doing my best to provide Dakota with the care, and resources he needs to thrive. Unfortunately, the cost of relocating to a new country is overwhelming. We’re still in the process of completing the paperwork for Dakota’s residency, but until that’s finalized, we don’t qualify for any assistance or insurance coverage. For now, we have to cover everything out-of-pocket.

We’re currently renting, and with deposits and long waiting lists, securing a permanent home is difficult and expensive. But having that stability is the first step toward helping Dakota get the care he needs long term.

I’m doing my best to take care of our family of five, and to be honest, it’s getting harder to keep up with everything on my own. As Dakota’s needs grow, his care is becoming more difficult to manage, physically, emotionally, and financially. I’ve always tried to handle things myself, but right now I feel like it’s time to reach out and ask for help, both for Dakota’s sake and for the well-being of our whole family.
