“Girl Gang” is the latest rookie team to enter the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) for the 2020 season, where students will work together to build and program an industrial-size robot to compete on a playing field. We are excited to be the FIRST ALL FEMALE FRC team to participate in Indiana, creating not only a new team, but a movement itself.
Girl Gang was created to provide a welcoming environment for girls to learn and explore, exposing them to STEM and inspiring them to pursue STEM fields. Girls are given the opportunity to succeed under the guidance of mentors and with teammates who follow the FIRST Core Values which are centered around teamwork, collaboration, mutual respect, and gracious professionalism. We encourage, inspire, and nurture women’s passions for STEM.
As a new rookie team, we are starting with virtually no existing supplies or funding - so ALL donations, no matter the size, are GREATLY appreciated. Funds raised will help contribute to the hardware and software aspects of a robot build season, and they will help pay for competition entry fees and workspaces for our build season. We estimate needing approximately $25,000 for this first season.
For any businesses looking to sponsor our team, we do have a tiered recognition system:
$500 = Company name on team wear
$1,000 = Company name and logo on team wear
$1,500 = Company featured in pit (plus name and logo on team wear)
$2,000 = Company name on our robot (plus featured in the pit and name and logo on team wear)
$2,500 = Company name and logo on our robot (plus featured in the pit and name and logo on team wear)
All donations will officially be made to "Team 8232 Robotics Boosters", which is an officially recognized 501(c )(3) non-profit organization.
