Get Gracyn to Boston

We are private people when it comes to our personal life. Not everything we do, say or have going on we share online. Social media only shows a tiny portion of our lives. Here's why we need your help... Gracyn was born with digestive issues. She was 2 weeks early, jaundiced & severely gassy. I even had to modify my diet while breastfeeding. As she's gotten older, the issues have gotten progressively worse. She's now chronically constipated & has VERY low motility. Meaning she lacks the muscles & or nerves to push the poop through her system.  Tests after tests & medicines haven't done much to relieve her of her troubles. She was even admitted into Golisano Children's Hospital in Rochester, NY for 3 days in early April 2018. Her gastrointestinal Dr is beyond AMAZING! However, she can only do so much, Gracyn is in need of a specialist. Here is where we need help. Gracyn has been referred to a Pediatric Motility Specialist at Boston Children's Hospital. Her appointment is October 11th 2018. Although, our insurance is very good & covers a great deal of the medical costs, we still will accrue expenses. Such as food, rental car, gas for said transportation & making sure we have bills covered. Especially if we're going to be in Boston longer than a week. David doesn't receive benefits, like paid time off or vacation days. Everything is still up in the air & we don't know if she is being admitted or not. We are working with the Ronald McDonald house for a place to stay, etc. As of right now, Gracyn is having a full day of tests. She'll be put under anesthesia & have an Anorectal manometry, colonoscopy & also a Pediatric Colonic Motility Study. The purpose of these tests is to see if there is functional muscles & or nerves in her, the basic anatomy of her colon & also see how it all functions when she's awake.  She's also not very cooperative when things go near her butt. Wouldn't you be, if your life was in & out of Dr's offices & hospitals?! Especially getting poked & prodded in a very sensitive area?!  We are not ones for asking for assistance. However, with myself on disability & David only working part time. Because of doctors orders he is limited to 20 hours a week. Needless to say, money is VERY tight. Anything helps & whatever you can give would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all in advance!!
