Get Chuck Rivenbark back on his feet and home from overseas.

My name is Sean Rivenbark, and I’m reaching out for my big brother Chuck. A recent accident resulted in a broken neck requiring multiple surgeries, including the fusion of five of his vertebrae. Last week the doctor told him that he would regain upper body mobility but would be paralyzed from the waist down. Hearing those words was surreal. Chuck was, of course, Chuck and within a few days lifted a leg! Talk about surreal!
Even with struggling to regain mobility in his limbs he’s in good spirits. The support of his friends and colleagues has been beyond anything we could have expected. He's currently at Katharinen-Hospital in Stuttgart, Germany, and will soon enter inpatient rehabilitation in the same area. What happens next remains to be seen, but we hope he’ll be able to come back to the States.
My brother is a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran. He's currently a civil servant at the Department of Defense as the Policy and Plans Specialist managing U.S.-Russia nuclear deterrence at U.S. European Command. Such a badass, right? His sister (in-law) put her foot down about that 'badass' comment being included.
The extent of his recovery cannot be predicted, neither can the cost of getting him home to our family and set up for the road to rehabilitation (which likely includes equipment, ongoing care, household modifications, etc.). We’re starting with a goal of $20,000 and will reevaluate as things progress. Please donate whatever you can.
Any funds beyond what is needed for Chuck’s recovery will be donated to organizations supporting veterans injured outside the line of duty (we’re narrowing it down according to his wishes and will update ASAP).
Thank you so much for taking the time to be informed about Chuck, and THANK YOU for anything you can do to help. We are truly grateful that Chuck's circle of love and support is so epically big.
