Over the past few years, without any media exposure or updates on social media in Switzerland, particularly in the canton of Zurich, I have observed several cases of corruption and abuse of office within government offices, including police departments. Whenever someone is mistreated by the Swiss police, in most cases the courts dismiss the case, and the accused police officers are not even investigated. In the cantons of Vaud and elsewhere in Switzerland, innocent people have been killed by police, yet no officers have been held accountable.

Recently, a similar situation occurred in the United States, where an immigration agent fatally shot a woman. Even after that incident, the government seemed unwilling to acknowledge its mistakes. A similar lack of accountability appears to be happening in Switzerland from several years. Because of Data Privacy law and well organised Swiss media accused police and govt officials are not exposed for years.
Therefore, I have decided to bring these matters to social media so that Swiss citizens can become aware of how police are being given an extra layer of protection, even after misusing their power.
I'm Mahesh Kamath, investigative journalist in Zurich and editor of HELVILUX.lu. For years, I have been observing how the Swiss judiciary makes decisions that give the impression of bias in cases of abuse of office, especially by police officers.
In several cases, innocent people, both Swiss citizens and foreigners, were killed, and the officers responsible were acquitted by the courts, often on the grounds of lack of evidence. Victims remain without justice, and trust in the judiciary suffers.
Article 110 (3) of the Criminal Code, which effectively protects public officials from rapid criminal prosecution, is particularly problematic. This gap leads to delays that deny justice to victims and make countless cases "disappear" from the files.
With this campaign, I want to:
- Creating transparency in the judiciary
- Uncovering abuse of office
- ensure fair and impartial proceedings for all citizens
Every donation helps to finance research, make cases public and put pressure on the authorities to ensure that the law in Switzerland applies to everyone again – without exceptions.
Support our campaign and set an example for justice!
