Hi, my name is Melissa and I'm a mother of three and would do anything for my children. My 17 year old, Ricardo Deleon, has been dealing with bullying in his high school since the beginning of the school year. The school was aware of this group of kids that have targeted my son and his friends. Several of the kids have left the school to get away from the bullying. This is supposed to be an A+school and you wouldn't expect your child to have to continuously deal with threats, on campus and through social media, and physical attacks at the school and outside. My son couldn't even enjoy Halloween because 8 or so boys from this other group found him and jumped him in the community behind mine and then they threatened him through social media, posted with a gun, saying he's lucky they didn't kill him. I reported it to the police and agreed to press charges but nothing came of it. The school was made aware of the situation but since it didn't happen on campus they couldn't do much about it. More threats were made while in school and the school fully knowing my son and his friends were going to be jumped by the other kids, kept them behind to avoid the fight. You think they would call me about the situation but never did. Finally my son went to school and defended himself. He was suspended for 10 days in February. We thought the bullying would stop. It did not. These boys went for anyone associated with my son now, too. They sent texts about wanting to fight. My son and his friends confronted one of the boys, that kept posting on snapchat money to hurt my son's group of friends. Things went too far and now my son, who has never been arrested before, is being arrested and charged as an adult over a kid that still is out there asking about him and his friends so he can fight them again. And the school is aware of these threats as well! 17 years old, never been in legal trouble, constantly bullied while the school was aware, and made one mistake, is now facing charges that could land him in prison up to 35 years. Please, if you know my son or his friends you know they are good kids and they don't deserve to have their lives ruined for this one mistake. We need legal representation and is going to cost at least $35,000. Anything will help.
From A Desperate Mom to all of you.
