Gayanne's New Album!

Donation protected
Dear beloved community and supporters – those I know well and those who have just appeared in my life,

I am so deeply moved by the outpouring of love and support for me and this upcoming album, by the god tree.

The backstory here is that this GoFundMe was started by dear friends, Ariela Freedman and Joshua Lesser, unbeknownst to me. Yep! After the car accident, my world was tossed around a good bit, and some very loving, determined friends decided to set this in motion.

Your response has stunned me. My deepest thanks for all of your prayers, concern, incredible reflections, and generous financial support.

I am healing well! I am ok! A little slow, but that will improve!

Stay with me for a minute. When I thought about using crowdsourcing to support the making of this album, I never intended to focus on me or my artistry. I actually saw these couple of minutes I would have your attention as a moment to talk about the profound opportunity to notice trees in a significant way. Not a “stop and smell the roses” appreciation kind of way, but a “have you been missing what I have been missing?” kind of way.

This album has been a deep process for me. I have been pulled into a fertile humus of sound, song, cry, niggun, chant, despair, possibility, science, Torah, and the search for wisdom that is right before us. I feel clear that I am not speaking on behalf of the trees. But I am standing by them, as we all are. And we can listen. The trees are present with us.

As I have been recovering, I listened to the opening song on my album. The first line, a lyric by Sufjan Stevens, reads: “If I am alive this time next year, will I have arrived in time to share?” I stopped short, feeling the potency of how this is vibrating for me personally since the accident. But more than the personal relevance, I re-heard the urgency. We live in times where messages that invite us into deeper relationship with nature’ design, this beautiful Earth, and with all that flows toward healing, are to be responded to now.

I am glad this music is moving into the world. I hope that you will find something relevant for you.

For those that have donated to this Go Fund Me campaign (which has reached over $10,000 WOW! ) I want to get you a digital version of the album or a physical CD. In the next couple of weeks, I will send you a link to the album.

GoFundMe doesn’t release your personal information. If you would like a copy of the album, please complete this form , and I will get you a copy when the album is released.

To those interested, I’ll have the digital version up on SoundCloud and Bandcamp in early February. Soon after I will have the music on Spotify and CDs on cdbaby.

To learn more about the making of this album, please see my website www.gayannegeurin.com. And in time, I will have many resources up about trees, Torah, art, and our relationship to nature at www.bythegodtree.com .

My gratitude is overflowing. Ariela and Josh, you asked, and this response has been bountiful and amazing. Thank you to all who shared or re-posted the campaign. There were a lot of you, and you said some things that have made me eager to keep growing creatively. I am humbled by your support.

Will Robertson, this album would not have been made without you. You are a co-creator, friend and producer, and I love you, brother.

Our capacity to be in connection with each other runs so deep and wide.
May our teachers come in many ways, including trees, Elon Moreh.
With so much love and blessings for safe travels through this life,

Gayanne
