Help rebuild Carmen’s home
My dear grandmother’s home was destroyed due to a gas leak on Christmas Eve. She is 81 years old and she needs help to move forward. Neither of her little homes had insurance and so she has lost it all. All of her life she worked for those little homes and they are now gone.
This is a tragedy my family does not wish on anyone. It is with great humility and sorrow in our hearts that we come to anyone for assistance to help my grandma start over. We are devastated by what happened. We are a united family and we have always pulled each other through the many trials of life, but have come to doubt whether we can do so this time.
Growing up, grandma was always there no matter what. After my grandfather passed she was lost. She decided to come find a new life in Texas where she later found support in Alfonso. Together they created a life for themselves and she brought us to the states by means of her own. Since then, we took it upon ourselves to never disappoint. With 6 children, 21 grandchildren, and 57 great-grandchildren, we cannot help but do all we can to repay her for all she has done for our family. She is the foundation and continues to be the backbone of this family. At an early age, I took it upon myself to ensure she would be taken care of in all aspects of life but this time it has become too big a task for me.
This is all so traumatizing for me but I know that I have to be strong for her. Thank you to all of those that have donated and shared our fundraiser. Also, thank you to the family who donated a storage unit to put what was left of her belongings. She truly appreciates it. She is a strong lady and refuses to give up. Please keep her in your prayers.
