Gale and the Fish

Note: I didn't realize at first that I could put offline donations (donations from the fundraiser event) into the online ticker! My goal has always been $2,000: $1,500 for the film and $500+ for Connecticut River Watershed Council. Almost there! Thank you all who have already donated, in person or online!
Donations will go towards the short film's production budget. Money raised above and beyond what we need for production will be donated to the Connecticut River Watershed Council, an organization that aims to restore and protect the Connecticut River and the creatures that inhabit it (fishes!). You can learn more specifics about the organization at www.ctriver.org.
The project received a grant from Northampton Community Television and will be filmed in Western Massachusetts and Cape Cod over summer 2015.
Film synopsis:
In a campy, sci-fi not-so-distant future, Gale Allen is a workaholic naturalist on the National Maintenance Team for Aquatic Robotics (NMTAR). Gale spends her days catching and repairing government-issued robofish that populate the rivers and oceans. Out in the river one day, Gale nets something mysterious... a real fish. Clueless about what to do with the creature, Gale’s search for answers brings her on a journey through her family’s history.
This project is an homage to my grandparents, Gale and Robert McClung--both writers, artists and naturalists who lived in and loved the Pioneer Valley.
Cast and crew include local artists Katie Spurgin (Gale), Trenda Loftin (actor), Finneas Scott (actor), Andrew Plimpton (actor), Ari Hayes (assistant director), Nina Alexander (production design), Andrew Oedel (music & sound design), Sophie Lederman (costumes & make-up) and Kate Barber (titles & graphics).
