Back on her feet again campaign
Spende geschützt
Update: This summer Gail was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer which has caused fracturing of her bones. She is now undergoing a trial of chemotherapy.
Gail has been an active member of the Portland arts community for well over 45 years. She has devoted her life to the arts and her craft. She is a founding member of The Art in the Pearl - fine arts and crafts festival, is an active member of the Oregon Potters Guild, and has taught art in the Portland schools system.
As we all do at some point in our lives, Gail needs a little extra help. She has been battling health issues since February. She injured her back while exhibiting at a show in Arizona in March that sent her to the ER a few times but lead to further complications. It all came to a head last week when she was admitted to the hospital for emergency surgery on a strangulated hernia. She is still recovering in the hospital. We don’t know when she will be able to be discharged from the hospital but she will have a few months of recovery once she is back home. Because of this, she has had to cancel a number of upcoming shows that she was depending on for income.
Please help us in providing Gail with a little extra help to get her on her feet once she is back home. The Art in the Pearl board members will be setting up a meal train for any one local who can help provide for her. She is not currently taking calls or visitors.
