GABRIEL RUIZ KNEE SURGERY FUND
Gabriel Ruiz is a teenager who has lived most of his life on the streets and in orphanages in Honduras. We met Gabriel when we traveled to the island of Roatan two years in a row and fell in love with him. He wanted to study in the U.S. and came to this country last year on an international student visa. He has a very loving spirit and a uniquely optimistic and happy nature. Gabriel has been living with our family and studying in the U.S. for over a year and he is doing very well in his academics and overall functioning.
Sadly, Gabriel tore his ACL, MCL and meniscus playing soccer, which required extensive knee surgery in June, 2018. Unfortunately, the two insurance providers do not cover the majority of the medical expenses.
WE ARE FUNDRAISING FOR THE UNCOVERED MEDICAL EXPENSES, WHICH TOTAL APPROXIMATELY $59,000 (INCLUDING PHYSICAL THERAPY) WITH THIS GOFUNDME ACCOUNT.
