Norway 2025

My name is Lexi Thomas and I am writing this on behalf of myself, Sireena MacPherson and Grace Millington. We are all young leaders for 1st Upton Rainbows in Chester and we have been selected to represent Girlguiding Cheshire Forest on a trip to Norway in August 2025. We are keen girl guiders and have taken part in many guiding events, such as the Cheshire Hike (a 60km hike competition around cheshire) and many camps, including Chamboree which is an international jamboree with over 5000 people, and I have recently been on the Cheshire Forest county trip to Switzerland which I really enjoyed. I particularly liked seeing the differences in scouting and guiding around the world and their cultures. Myself and Sireena have also received a Girlguiding Hero Award which is a privilege to have as not many people have one.

We have made this to ask if you would be kind enough to support us financially through a donation to assist in our fundraising for the trip. We are trying to raise £1300 each to attend. This is a significant trip as only a handful of people have been chosen and we all really want to attend. We are going to Evji – TrollAktiv Camp Centre – about 1.5 hours drive from Kistiansands airport and there will be 12 girls and 4 leaders taking part. We will be taking part in outdoor activities (White water rafting, kayaking, mountain biking and hiking etc.) We also have the opportunity to meet other Guiders which is a great opportunity to make lifelong international friends, and we can take part in some Norwegian Guiding activities to link in with our units program. The trip will also help us complete our young leader qualifications by completing leadership roles and pursuing activities, but it would also contribute to our social skills, as we will be meeting new people with different cultural backgrounds. We are all really looking forward to this once in a lifetime opportunity and I hope you would be willing to support us, we would be so grateful!
