SoulFood outreach ministry
Donation protected
Hello,
My name is Eamon. I live in Central Pennsylvania with my wife and two boys. I moved here a little over two years ago from Texas and immediately saw a need in the community...freshly prepared meals for those who cannot afford them. There is a great organization in the next town over but my town is largely underserved and I consistantly see people that make me worry about when the last time it was that they had a hot meal. It honestly breaks my heart to see the hunger and sadness in the eyes of my fellow citizens. but I also know I can DO SOMETHING about it, even if it is on a small scale.
I am trying to raise money to start a food ministry. It is not a food pantry or soup kitchen: it is a mobile unit (built on a 5 Foot X 12 Foot flat trailer). The biggest stumbling block is that I am not wealthy enough to foot the initial startup cost. I have secured a donated trailer to which I will mount an 8 burner propane grill, propane tanks. a propane heated instant hot sanitation sink and a small serving table.
I know in today's economy it is difficult for us to donate but this is such a great cause. I have volunteers who will come help me serve food and be available to talk or even pray with those we serve. This is a single step to help my community and I know it will be well received and is very much needed.
I am looking to purchase the grill, 2 propane tanks and some basic storage and sanitation items. I will take the food Safety course required in my state and ensure any licensure/registration
required is obtained promptly.
Once the ministry is set up, I will post pictures regularly to show my progress and how the ministry is working in the community. Thank you all for any assistance you feel led to give me and my community.
