JJ’s Support Fund

Hi, my name is Mariah. I am a mom to a spunky one year old boy and loving wife. I am the oldest sister to 3 energetic boys an 11 year old, 9 year old with the special gift of autism and a 7 year old. I am also an elementary school teacher in the state of Arizona.

My baby brother Joseph-Jordan affectionately known as JJ is a vivacious, outgoing, fun, loving basketball player and an avid sports fan at the tender age of 7 years old. JJ is a first grade student who loves math. He is a light in his classroom, makes all of his classmates laugh, and tells them all about the 49ers. At home, JJ is the first one to give you a hug but will also tell you play by play what is going on in any basketball or football game. JJ loves playing outdoors and has the energy of an energizer bunny. Our family ended 2022 celebrating his birthday and the holidays only to have 2023 turn our world upside down.

JJ went to bed one night, woke up the next morning and fell out of bed. He went to his pediatrician then to the emergency room that showed a mass on his brain. After that, he was transferred to Phoenix Childrens Hospital where he was diagnosed with a brain stem glioblastoma. After spending 10 days in the hospital of endless labs, scans, MRI’s, physical exams and a plethora of other medical procedures, the doctors made us aware that it this tumor cannot be surgically removed. JJ’s current treatment plan is to receive radiation at the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, AZ Monday-Friday for 6 weeks.

Our mom will not be working in this time to care for Joseph and drive him and back forth to his treatments. Your generosity will be going to JJ’s current and future medical bills. The funds will be held in an account and dispersed as the bills come in.
