Funeral expenses for Ligia's mom

My dear friend Ligia Garcia lost her mother, Maria Cristina Buitrago on Monday, December 23rd after a short but devastating illness. Many of you may know Ligia as the wonderful, loving, skilled  teacher and caretaker who has cared for (and raised) practically every kid in Jackson Heights and beyond over the years. Ligia has also devoted her expertise and compassionate care to neighborhood children through her work at the Lexington School for the Deaf, St. Mark's Church and now through her current position at a domestic violence shelter.

Anyone who knows Ligia knows the she would move heaven and earth to help others and I'm hoping that all of the families she has touched over the years will consider donating to alleviate the burden that is now upon her family. Once Ligia gets a sense of her budget she will be able to plan the service her mother deserves. I am hoping to be able to provide her this clarity by Monday December 30th. Thank you so much for considering.
