In loving memory of our dear friend, Keri-Lynne, we have started this GoFundMe as a means of showing support for her husband and our friend, Ross Newton.
Keri passed away unexpectedly on December 22nd, in her home. In her final moments she was with her husband, who had taken care of Keri for years as her health deteriorated. She was only 41 years old. Keri would want to make sure her husband, her mom, and her pups were well taken care of. Christmas was Keri’s favourite time of year. She loved the snowy wonderland here in Chalk River, and the Christmas spirit.
Despite her own health issues, Keri was always looking out for everyone. She had a warmth that would fill the room and an irresistible smile, an enormous heart, and a generous soul. She was constantly checking in on everyone through messages and phone calls. She would plan birthday celebrations and holiday get togethers for her family and friends. She had a way of making you feel right at home, and you always knew she would be there for you in a heartbeat.
She would spend much time in the outdoors. She loved her backyard and would spend hours taking pictures of nature, gardening, and watching for wildlife. She loved nature and animals. Most of all, she loved her pups. She enjoyed painting and her house is adorned with many of the pieces she created over the years. She had a talent for home design, cooking, and baking.
In recent years, Keri’s health began to deteriorate. She was diagnosed with lupus and struggled with managing her symptoms and the progression of the disease. Those that knew her know how much this disease took a toll on her. She couldn’t have a job, and at the worst could barely leave the house other than to attend appointments. Ross was steadily at Keri’s side through all of this. We know Keri would want Ross to be okay. Keri was a military wife, and fiercely proud of Ross in his duty. Despite many deployments and times away, Ross would ensure Keri had transportation, and all services needed so she wouldn’t be affected by his absence.
