Fundraiser for Marcos and Laura Matijevic

My name is Kristen, and I have been a friend of the Matijevic family for over 15 years. I would like to start by letting the world know what a loving and selfless family this is, and how their world has been shaken in the blink of an eye.
We know from God's word that He does not give us more than what we can handle. That being said, you should know that Marcos and Laura Matijevic were entrusted with one of the greatest honors and responsibilities that one could have on this earth. They were blessed with 3 beautiful children: Brian, Joanie and Majka. Their youngest child, Majka, was born with cerebral palsy. This was life changing for the Matijevic family. They spent everyday of Majka's life looking after and caring for her in a way like no other. If you have ever had the chance to meet them, you know Majka was their world; I know firsthand. Ever since they were little, Brian and Joanie knew nothing else than to be all about their sister. They showed her love every moment they spent with her and treasured each and every memory. It is a part of who they are; It is what their family was built on. It is why they are all such gracious people.
In 2014, Marcos, Majka's dad and a main caregiver for her, unfortunately become blind. This has been devastating for them as Marcos has been unable to work or perform normal everyday functions since then. But still, they pressed on and Majka remained their main focus.
Majka is the definition of hero. She lived for nearly 32 years with the inability to perform daily activities that many of us take for granted. She was a fighter her entire life until her very last breath on January 18, 2019, when she unexpectedly left this earth to be with the Lord (just 4 weeks shy of her 32nd birthday. 32!! This is unbelievably amazing for someone in Majka's condition). Her passing has changed their lives forever. Majka had been ill her entire life with certain complications that come along with her condition, but her death came as a total surprise to this family. Now they are left grieving and with so much uncertainty.
I write this to tell you that I want to help this family in any way possible. As you know, funeral service and burying a child is no easy (or affordable) task, and it is even harder for them in the condition they are currently in. Should you find it in your heart to make any kind of donation of any amount to help them, I know they (Laura and Marcos) will truly benefit from it at this time. We know that no monetary value will bring back their precious angel, but what it will do is allow them to grieve without the additional stress of financial costs. If you are friends of Laura, Marcos, Brian, or Joanie, you know what kind of a monumental loss this has been for them. Please pray for them. They are hurting in a way few can understand.
