Funding for our Future
Rahab's Sisters is a women-to-women non-profit in Portland, Oregon. We offer Radical Hospitality to women that have been marginalized by the sex industry, homelessness, and poverty. Every Friday night we meet at St Peter and Paul Episcopal Church on 82nd ave, where our guests are greeted and served a hot meal, and given hygiene products and unconditional friendship.
WE NEED YOUR HELP! Over the past two years, our program has seen a 20% increase in number of women served each year while funding has remained stagnant (WE SEE 50-75 WOMEN EACH WEEK). Every Friday, our sisters look to us for stability.
That’s why our goal for this campaign is to raise $28,000 by December 31st to hire a consistent face for Rahab's Sisters. We need a part-time Executive Director to help us survive. Rahab's Sisters is not about saving anyone. We're about helping our sisters survive. We are at capacity, and our guests need us to have a future more than ever.
If we raise that amount, we’ll be able to provide our sisters with someone that they can rely on. A part-time Executive Director who will be there every Friday night. This person will coordinate our meal teams, communicate with security, track donations, and run our volunteer orientation.
To form the biggest connection possible with our guests, THEY NEED THE SAME FACE. We need your help walking into January 2017 so we can be operationally sound.
Our guests and volunteers will be so thankful to have this person each Friday night. It will also allow us to add a job search/resume building program for our guests to help empower them, and enable them to find work with a positive advocate on their side. DONATE TODAY!
