FUND JENNIFER'S FIGHT: Don't Let Cancer Bankrupt This Kentucky Healer
UPDATES: WE'VE FULL COVERED CHEMOTHERAPY PORT!!! BUT WE STILL NEED TO COVER BONE SCAN AND CT OF ABDOMEN AND PELVIS ($14,287), BREAST MRI ($3,768), AND ECHOGARDIOGRAM ($5423). THIS DOES NOT EVEN INCLUDE PRICE FOR LIFESAVING TARGETED CHEMOTHERAPY AND MASTECTOMY, JUST YET. WHICH IS WHY WE'VE RAISED THE GOAL TO $25,000.
Jennifer is in good spirits. She's recovered well from port installation operation it isn't sore anymore. She is exhausting any and all possible funding sources outside of Gofundme as she awaits medical insurance to take effect January 1st. We haven't found any other tenable solutions just yet. She has adopted a cat with a local animal rescue organization and is spending time supporting the Merryman House shelter for women. That's the kind of person she is, still giving with everything she is up against.
The Urgent Crisis: A Call for Heroes, Who Heals the Healers?
This is not a story about charity; it’s a terrifying race against the clock and the predatory cost of American healthcare. Our dear friend, Jennifer, a selfless mother and grandmother, dedicated wife, and holistic health practitioner in Western Kentucky, is facing a crisis.
Jennifer has been diagnosed with Stage 3 HER2-Positive Breast Cancer. Her trusted medical team, including the highly respected surgeon Dr. Howard and her compassionate oncologist Dr. Claudino, has delivered a powerful truth: her prognosis is GOOD—if she can immediately begin the targeted chemotherapy she needs.
The Catastrophe: Her comprehensive insurance won't start until January 1st. The hospital is demanding over $10,000 upfront for the surgical placement of her chemo port this Friday—an absolute medical necessity. This same procedure was quoted at an outrageous $26,000 by other facilities, who refused to negotiate with her husband's employer’s care plan.
We need to raise $15,000 immediately to cover this initial surgery and stabilize her family including her two daughters, son, and granddaughter. Statistically, most medical campaigns fail to reach their goal, but Jennifer's life and her family's future depend on the success of this campaign. We need to act now to prevent this treatable cancer from causing total financial ruin.
The Human Stake: Why Jennifer Deserves to Be Fully Funded
Jennifer is the person who always shows up for others. Her life is a living testament to healing and service:
A Devoted Healer: As a holistic licensed massage therapist and a former occupational therapist for neurodivergent children and for the elderly in long term care homes, Jennifer has spent her life pouring care into others. She is a beloved prominent member of Western Kentucky’s wellness and spiritual communities.
A Fighter Before the Diagnosis: She is fiercely health-conscious. Out of an intuitive fear of the lump she found, she quit all sugar cold turkey and began significant lifestyle and regimen changes on August 22nd, well before the official diagnosis.
Unanticipated Trauma: She was originally planning only for surgery in 4–6 weeks, so the need for six rounds of chemotherapy came as a crushing, unanticipated shock.
She Fought for a Diagnosis: When everyone in her region refused treatment due to insurance issues, she drove five hours to Cincinnati, Ohio, just to get a free scan from the Pink Ribbon nonprofit.
Her family needs her, and her community needs her to keep going on being the bright, genuine healer that she is. She is creating videos and journaling her entire journey on social media, hoping that her vulnerability will help someone else in the world.
Transparency of Need: Where Your Donation Goes
This initial $15,000 goal is the absolute minimum to get her life-saving treatment started without risking foreclosure. Every dollar goes directly toward preventing bankruptcy and stabilizing her health.
Needs Approximate Costs & Impact of Your Donation
- Chemo Port Surgery (Immediate Requirement) $10,000+ Allows her to start life-saving chemo this week with Dr. Claudino.
- Lost Income & Living Expenses $3,000+ Keeps the family afloat while she undergoes treatment and cannot work.
- Integrative Care & Cancer-Starving Diet $2,000+ Supports the holistic health practices critical to her long-term recovery.
The devastating truth is that while HER2-positive cancer has a good prognosis with targeted therapy, that therapy will bankrupt her unless this campaign is successful.
The Power of Three Actions: Donate, Share & Demand Change!
Jennifer is an example of the American injustice that punishes hard-working people for getting sick. She is being forced to choose between her financial survival and her lifesaving medical treatment.
1. DONATE WHATEVER YOU CAN GIVE!
Be the Momentum: Campaigns that reach 33% of their goal early on are far more likely to be fully funded. Help us smash that initial milestone!
Donate the Cost of an Item: Skip your takeout coffee, your lunch, or a night out. A $25 donation is an immediate act of compassion that adds up to a miracle.
2. SHARE TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW!
Please share this campaign widely with a personal note that explains why Jennifer matters to you each individualized contact in your phone and all social media platforms. Every share is another potential life-saving donor. Even if you're not in a position to contribute, sharing IS contributing!
3. Honor Jennifer’s Wishes: Demand Systemic Change
Jennifer is asking you to make a stand. Use her journey as an inspiration to demand that healthcare is treated as a human right, not a profit margin.
Please contact your Kentucky representatives today and say healthcare is a right, not a privilege for the wealthy.

Jennifer's Urgent Self-Care Message
Jennifer’s most heartfelt plea to all women is: Do not let fear or cost stop you. Please perform thorough self-breast exams, and get your medical exams, mammograms, and thermography. She is also urging everyone to understand that refined sugar consumption feeds tumors and to prioritize a cancer-starving diet.
