Help him become a career Cowboy

Athien Hernandez is a 15-year old young man. He is Friendly, Kind and unique in many ways. He is also Deaf. He attends Riverside School for the Deaf, plays on the football team but his favorite pass time is on a Horse. He loves anything Cowboy and the ranch life; funny enough he has never lived on a ranch. But after seeing Rodeos and Ranching online, this lifestyle became his dream. When he has an opportunity to train on the weekends he embraces every moment.

Through your support, Athien can continue to learn diverse skills by participating in rodeos, competitions, clinics, horsemanship training and, most importantly, specific 1-on-1 training from exceptional trainers such as Luis Torres @ltquarterhorses and Jaime Ortiz from El Canelo Charro Team. They have been genuinely supportive of his dream. Because Athien is Deaf he benefits most during 1-on-1 trainings, but this doesn’t stop him from joining the rest of the cowboys!

The fundraiser is open-ended. We put $20,000 to start with because there was not an option to say open-ended . 

The donations will help fund an upcoming training clinic in November 2022 in Acampo, CA, with Rodeo U and future 1-on-1 lessons, competitions, gear, etc. Athien would also like to attend Farrier School in the Summer of 2023, where he will gain skills in making horseshoes and learn how to put them on a horse. After completing this 8-week course, he will become a certified Farrier to widen his opportunities for his Cowboy Career this alone would cost about $11,000 with tuition, tools, dorm and travel. Because Athien has specific needs Dad will need to go with him so that requires a bit more.   

We hope to someday own a home with a small ranch, a horse, and truck and trailer so he has his own. Thanks to the riding instructors for lending us their horses during the lessons so far.
