Collier College Democrats

    The College Democrats of America are hosting their annual conference in Washington D.C. This event will provide our College Democrats Club with training opportunities for members, and we'll meet with influential leaders in the Democratic Party. Four members of the College Democrats will be arriving a day earlier to meet up with lawmakers and their staff to discuss key legislation such as a ban on assault rifles and increased funding for financial aid.

   We will be arriving in Washington D.C. on March 8th and staying until March 12th. On the 8th we have scheduled meetings with lawmakers and their staffers to discuss  our key issues.  One of the staffers we will be meeting is Kenneth Clifford, Francis Rooney's Senior Legislative Assistant. From the 9th to the 11th we will be participating in the College Democrats of America Winter Conference. On the 12th we will explore our nation's capital and return home. 

    But our plans do not stop here. The knowledge and the resources, we develop, will be used to our advantage to change the political landscape of collier county to be a more fair, just, and inclusive community

* Update: We thought our goal would be enough cover our expenses for airfare, lodging, meals, and transportation; however, after a re-evaluation, we realized we need to increase our goal to $3,000.
