Help me study at my dream university

Nothing screams 'dedication' quite like moving back in with your parents at 24 years old...

Hello everybody,

My name is Suzan Alida van der Molen. I am 24 years old, and have lived in Amsterdam my whole life. Last October I graduated from the University of Amsterdam with a Bachelor's degree in Political Science.

I need to raise money to be able to pay my tuition fee for the MSc Human Rights and Politics at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). In the beginning of 2024 I received an offer for year 2024/2025. Unfortunately, the tuition costs were too high, and I was not able to close the gap in my budget deficit.

This year I was accepted into LSE again, for the year 2025/2026. The tuition fee is 33.000 pounds, which converts to 39.368 euros. This time I have received almost 10.000 euros in study grants, and moved back in with my parents in order to save up as much money as I can. Right now my budget deficit is around 20.000 euros.

Studies on human rights are often purely focused on law, but the Human Rights and Politics master's program specifically uses political theory as its foundation. During my bachelor's, I analyzed a wide range of topics, but my passion was primarily in political theory. This MSc offers me the opportunity to deepen my knowledge in political theory and apply it more specifically to topics that strongly interest me, specifically disability rights. Since my specialization is in Political Theory, I hope to contribute to theoretical questions on justice and inclusion, with a particular focus on the integration of people with disabilities.
