For many years, this resilient woman has persevered through chronic disability and financial hardship while she raised a child alone. Despite her limited disability income, she's always found creative ways to make ends meet, while maintaining her independence through decades of challenges.

Throughout her life, she has been the first to help others in need - volunteering, supporting friends through difficult times, and giving whatever she could to those less fortunate. Yet she's never been one to ask for help herself, always finding ways to manage on her own.

Five years ago, she took a brave step toward securing her future by downsizing her home. Faced with a challenging housing market during the pandemic and being priced out of countless properties, she finally found a house that needed complete renovation - from floors to ceiling, inside and out. During this process, she has been an unintended nomad, living out of three bags which go with her to friends’ houses. While her determination and DIY spirit have carried her far in renovating on a minimal budget, she has now reached a critical point where the necessary repairs have depleted her resources.
