Dear friends and compassionate individuals worldwide,

I come to you with a heavy heart and a plea for assistance in the face of dire circumstances. My family and I find ourselves trapped in the midst of conflict and turmoil in Gaza, yearning for a chance at a new beginning, a life beyond the devastation that surrounds us. It is in this moment of desperation that I humbly seek your help, believing that together we can overcome the challenges that threaten our very existence and pave the way for a brighter future filled with hope and opportunity.

Allow me to introduce myself: I am Dr. Islam Abdelkareem, a graduate of the Faculty of Medicine from Cairo University in Egypt. Following my graduation, I obtained my certification to practice in Palestine-Gaza, where I embarked on a journey to serve my community and make a difference in the lives of those in need. Subsequently, I pursued further studies in Dermatology and Cosmetology in Egypt, striving for excellence and mastery in my field.

Despite my academic achievements and aspirations, financial constraints have hindered my progress, forcing me to pause my pursuit of a Master's degree and return to Gaza in search of means to support my education. Little did I know that the onset of relentless conflict would shatter not only my dreams but also the hopes and aspirations of my family and fellow Gazans.

The loss of our beloved father during the war cast a shadow of grief over our household, leaving us to grapple with the harsh realities of life amidst chaos and uncertainty. My resilient mother, a pillar of strength in the face of adversity, has shouldered the responsibility of raising me and my five siblings, despite her own health struggles exacerbated by the trauma of losing three brothers and their families to the war.

My sister Iman, armed with a degree in business administration, my brother Ammar, a graduate in mechanical engineering, and my brother Muhannad, specializing in solar system and communications, all harbor dreams of a better tomorrow. Meanwhile, my brother Izzeddin's academic prowess was cut short by the ravages of war just as he embarked on his journey in computer engineering after finishing his high school with 90.7% on July 2023. Lastly, my youngest sister Sondos, a bright 14-year-old with a thirst for knowledge and very high scores achievements all over the years , stands on the brink of her educational journey, eager to carve out her path in life.

I implore you to extend your hand in generosity and compassion towards us, as every contribution made will not only alleviate our suffering but also serve as a beacon of hope for a family striving against all odds. Your support will enable our courageous mother to access essential healthcare, empower Izzeddin to pursue his dreams, and ensure Sondos continues her education uninterrupted. As for me, your assistance will pave the way for me to resume my Master's degree and fulfill my academic aspirations.

In order to secure our safe passage out of Gaza and towards a new beginning, we require a total sum of $50,000. This amount will cover the costs of evacuation for each family member, cover our mother's treatment and part of my and Izzeddin's tuition fees.

Breakdown of the funds:

أنا أتي إليكم بقلبٍ ثقيل ونداء للمساعدة في مواجهة ظروفٍ صعبة. نحن أنا وعائلتي نجد أنفسنا محاصرين في وسط الصراع والابادة في غزة، نتوق إلى فرصة لبداية جديدة، حياة خارج الدمار الذي يحيط بنا. في هذه اللحظة من اليأس، أناشدكم بتواضع لمساعدتكم، مؤمنًا بأننا معًا يمكننا التغلب على التحديات التي تهدد وجودنا ونفتح الطريق نحو مستقبل أفضل مليء بالأمل والفرص.

اسمحوا لي أن أعرف نفسي: أنا الطبيبة إسلام عبد الكريم، خريجة كلية الطب من جامعة القاهرة في مصر. بعد تخرجي، حصلت على شهادتي لممارسة الطب في فلسطين-غزة، حيث بدأت رحلتي لخدمة مجتمعي وتحقيق الفارق في حياة الأشخاص المحتاجين. بعد ذلك، تابعت دراساتي في طب الجلدية والتجميل في مصر، سعيًا للتميز والإتقان في مجالي.

على الرغم من إنجازاتي وطموحاتي، فقد تعرقل تقدمي بسبب الظروف المالية، مما اضطرني لتعليق متابعة درجة الماجستير والعودة إلى غزة بحثًا عن وسائل لدعم تعليمي. وقليل ما كنت أعرف أن بداية النزاع اللاهدئ ستحطم ليس فقط أحلامي ولكن أيضًا آمالي وطموحات أسرتي وزملائي في غزة.

فقداننا لوالدنا الحبيب خلال الحرب طوى ظلالًا من الحزن على منزلنا، تاركًا لنا أن نتعامل مع واقع الحياة في وسط الفوضى وعدم اليقين. أمي القوية، الصابرة والمثابرة، تحملت مسؤولية تربية أنا وأخوتي الخمسة، على الرغم من صراعها الصحي الذي تفاقم بسبب الصدمة الناجمة عن فقدان ثلاثة من إخوتها وعائلاتهم في الحرب.

تحلم أختي إيمان، الحاصلة على البكالوريوس في إدارة الأعمال، وأخي عمار، الخريج في الهندسة الميكانيكية، وأخي مهند، المتخصص في نظام الطاقة الشمسية والاتصالات، جميعهم بغدٍ أفضل. في حين أنتهى مسار تعليم أخي عزالدين في هندسة الحاسوب قبل ان تبدأ رحلته في هذا المجال بعد انتهائه من الثانوية العامة بتفوق بنسبة 90.7% في يوليو 2023. وأختي الصغرى سندس، الطالبة المتألقة في الرابع عشرة من عمرها برغبة شديدة في العلم حيث كانت متفوقة على مر السنين، تقف على حافة رحلتها التعليمية، حاملةً شغفها بنحت مسارها في الحياة.

أناشدكم أن تمدوا يدكم بالسخاء والرحمة نحونا، فكل مساهمة ستخفف ليس فقط معاناتنا ولكنها ستكون أيضًا مصباحًا من الأمل لأسرة تكافح ضد كل الظروف. دعمكم سيمكن أمي الشجاعة من الوصول لمكان امن وتلقيها الرعاية الصحية والعلاج ، وسيمكن عزالدين الشاب الموهوب من متابعة أحلامه، وسيضمن أن سندس تواصل تعليمها دون انقطاع. أما بالنسبة لي، فسيمهد دعمكم الطريق لي لاستئناف دراستي للحصول على درجة الماجستير وتحقيق طموحاتي وان اكون سندا لعائلتي .

لضمان مرورنا الآمن خارج غزة وتجاه بداية جديدة، نحتاج إلى مبلغ إجمالي قدره 50000 دولار. ستغطي هذه القيمة تكاليف الإجلاء لكل فرد من العائلة، وتغطية علاج والدتنا وجزءًا من رسوم دراستي واخي عزالدين . هذا تفصيل للأموال:

5000 دولار لكل فرد للعبور من معبر رفح (إجمالي 35000 دولار).

10000 دولار لرسوم الدراسة.

حوالي 2000 دولار لعلاج الأم.

3000 دولار للإقامة في مصر.
