Friends of Marilyn

Dear friends and family of Marilyn-

Marilyn Reynolds suffered two strokes in October 2023. After a stay in the ICU at UC Davis, she was released to a stroke rehabilitation facility for two weeks. She came home to her apartment in River Park for some months but has since moved to assisted living at Atria in Carmichael. Please see updates below.

Marilyn’s family, including Dave Hutchinson, Anara Guard, and Dave Dawson, have been overwhelmed by the love and support of the community that surrounds her. We recognize that we have already asked a great deal from this group. We do so, here, again.

Her care is quickly exhausting our collective resources. For that reason, we turn to you now to request donations for her continued care. The amount is entirely up to you, whatever you can afford or feel is appropriate, but neither we nor Marilyn would ever want you to sacrifice your own care or needs.

This request is also not an easy one for us to make. We are dismayed to live in a system in which healthcare is unaffordable even to those who consider themselves middle class. This is part of a larger national conversation that I hope we will be able to have someday. Until then, and until solutions are found, we are asking for your support. Thank you for considering this request. Please do not feel obligated to contribute. Love, kind thoughts, emails, cards, calls, and texts are also major factors in her ongoing recovery.
