Tragically, both Jenny Friedrichs and John Walter, members of the Sauk Centre High School (SCHS) class of 1992, passed away before they had a chance to chase and fulfill their dreams.
As young adults looking toward graduation, it was a very hard time for this class and the entire community.
Years later, a classmate had the conversation about loss with a grieving mother who said, "My biggest fear is that people will forget."
During the class of '92 25th reunion, several classmates took these feelings to heart and decided to remember Jenny and John in a more permanent, positive way - a Memorial Scholarship.
We are driving ahead with this idea to create the Friedrichs / Walter Memorial Scholarship to be awarded to deserving student(s) from SCHS, beginning in 2018.
