For 22 years, on a typically frigid February day, Freeport Community Services staff and volunteers bundle up in red hats, scarves and mittens to raise funds outside for our critical programs. To help ensure that our Freeport and Pownal neighbors continue to have access to food and fuel, we encourage you to give what you are able.
Your gift of any size will make a difference, but please consider the following:
• $84 provides one child with two supplemental weekend meals for the school year. We provide food for an average of 60 children weekly.
• $100 provides one child with supplemental non-perishable and fresh, local food during the summer months. 140 children received food weekly in Summer 2025.
• $350 provides one household with 100 gallons of oil. We received 115 requests for heating assistance in 2025, which is a 25% increase from the year prior.
• $550 provides one person with 1,095 meals each year. In FY2025 we served 217 new households at our Food Pantry. Visits to the Food Pantry have continued to increase in frequency by nearly 10%.
Please donate today to help our Freeport and Pownal neighbors.
Show your support and drive by Freeport Community Services on Saturday, February 21 from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. for our 22nd Annual Freeze Out. We're freezing outside, so our neighbors in need can be warm and comfortable inside!
