My name is Brian Taylor, also known as the Dogfather of Harlem. I’ve been a professional dog groomer and small business owner in Harlem for over 16 years.

A lot of you are here because you watched me groom a severely matted dog whose previous pet parent passed away. What was a three-hour grooming appointment turned into a series that has now reached over 10 million views across social media.

I never expected one dog’s story to reach that many people. Thousands of comments and messages came in, and so many people asked me, “How can we help?”

That brought me right back to why I started the Pup Relief Tour.

During the pandemic, when so many families were struggling, I started providing free grooming to pet parents who couldn’t afford it. What started in Harlem grew into a movement that traveled across the country, bringing groomers together to help dogs and families in need.

Over the years, with the help of volunteer groomers and supporters, Pup Relief Tour has provided free grooming to more than 1,800 dogs. Our work has been recognized by PEOPLE Magazine and GoFundMe, but for me, it has always been about helping the dog in front of us.

Now I want to continue that mission for dogs coming to us in conditions like the one millions of you just watched.

Severe matting is not a regular grooming appointment. Some of these dogs can take several hours of careful work. Sometimes the family simply doesn’t have the money to pay for everything that is needed.

I don’t want money to be the reason we can’t help a dog that really needs us.

That’s why I created this fund.

Donations will support Pup Relief Tour Inc. and help us provide free or heavily discounted grooming for dogs in severe condition whose families need financial assistance. Donations will help with grooming supplies, equipment, additional groomer and staff support when needed, and the resources it takes to safely handle these difficult cases.

I’m also donating my own time. Many of these dogs I will personally groom, allowing your donations to go even further and helping us take on more dogs that need us.

We’re going to document these transformations just like you watched this one. The content will help educate pet parents about severe matting, bring awareness to dogs that need help, and hopefully allow one dog’s story to help the next dog.

Through Harlem Doggie Day Spa and Fur Heroes, we have experienced groomers and the resources to do the work. Through Pup Relief Tour, we already have a history of giving back.

My goal is simple: use what I do best, use the platform we’ve built, and turn these views into real help for more dogs.

One dog’s transformation reached more than 10 million people. Now I want to turn that attention into something bigger.

This isn’t about judging pet parents. It’s about helping the dog in front of us.
