Frank Schier, longtime Editor and Publisher of The Rock River Times, has been diagnosed with having suffered a stroke, as well as lung and brain cancer. He is undergoing expert treatment at Swedish American Hospital.
“What a long and strange trip I’ve been,” Frank told his staff after his diagnosis.
“It has been a pleasure and at times painful to serve the Rockford community. I really wondered what I should say about this but I decided I should always tell the truth. I’d like to thank all our supporters and detractors for making my life interesting. I am not giving up the fight and expect a successful treatment plan."
