Foxy's Fundraiser for The Friends of St Luke's Cancer Care
As some of you may know I was diagnosed with Nasopharyngeal Cancer in May 2024, a tumor behind my nose that couldn't be operated on.
I had to go to St Luke's Hospital in Dublin, specialists in Head and Neck Cancer for my treatment which was for 7 weeks, Radiotherapy every day Monday to Friday and Chemotherapy 1 day a week in the Mater hospital.
I was booked in to the Lodge, which is on the hospital grounds with my own room and bathroom. They arranged transport home on a Friday and back to the hospital on the Monday, my taxi every week to the Mater hospital for my Chemotherapy, food is provided 24 hours a day in the Lodge, all types of therapies and classes for people to attend and staff there 24 hours also. I was then admitted to the hospital for my last few weeks when I became too unwell. I always felt well looked after and at ease because there was always staff around.
I can't thank them enough for the care that I got, for everything they provide and the fact they saved my life.
They are funded by donations so I hope to raise funds for them to help towards keeping this amazing service going. We are also having a day of fundraising and fun in Harts Bar, Campile on 3rd August with Darts player Scott Williams, duck races, live music, and more on the day for anyone who can attend also.
Thanks for reading my story and any donation is appreciated and a share of this link if you can
Cheers,
Foxy
