For Victoria, Bella, Leo: In Memory of Barbara
Donation protected
It’s with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved sister Barbara Almonte, who left us on Tuesday, April 8th, 2025, after battling leukemia. She was 36 years old.
Barbara was born on December 5th, 1988, in East Stroudsburg, PA, the youngest of three children. Thoughtful, headstrong, and fiercely loyal, Barbara was the kind of person who would do anything for the people she loved. If she loved you, she loved you hard. Affectionately known as Barbarita and B Love, Barbara brought heart to everything she touched. She loved baking and could watch hours of home renovation shows with a smile. Most of all, she loved her family—her partner, Edwin Pierre, and their three beautiful children: Victoria, Bella, and Leo.
Barbara's life was not without hardship. As a child, she survived Kawasaki Disease and lived with health challenges throughout her life. In June of 2024, she was diagnosed with leukemia. Even through this devastating illness, she remained brave and true to herself. Barbara died the way she lived—on her own terms.
Since her passing, many friends and family have asked how they can help. After much reflection, we believe the best way to honor Barbara’s memory is to care for what mattered most to her: her children. We are setting up this GoFundMe to support Victoria, Bella, and Leo as they begin to navigate life without their mother.
All funds raised will go directly toward their care, stability, and future—whether it be for education, daily needs, or just making sure they’re surrounded by the same love Barbara gave so freely.
Thank you for standing with us during this time, and for helping us lift Barbara’s children with the same generosity and spirit she gave to so many.
With love and gratitude,
Hommy & Glenda
