On May 27th 2017, we were all saddened to hear our music brother Doug Reddick lost his long battle with depression. No one is ever prepared for this news and Doug's fiance Sharon Sides needs our help at this time for all of the many unforeseen expenses that she is left with now. A large sum is needed by this Friday.
I would like to share a few words written by another person from the large music community that Doug was involved with. "As Marcus King has said many times at the end of his shows, "Be good to one another love your sisters and your brothers". Let me break that down. "Being good to one another" is being kind and respectful to all. Doug always had kind words to say. He was a BIG fan of all of the music that we all know and love. He always had kind words to say to musicians to encourage them on that long road they ride to play music for us. Musicians need our support and Doug was a true fan in that regard. "Love your sisters and your brothers" The ones that need love the most are those that battle depression. It is a very hard fight for anyone bearing that weight including close family and friends that want to help them out of that darkness. What do you say or do? Love, love, and more love is what we all need."

The road goes on forever and it makes me smile to think that Doug was probably holding the door for Gregg Allman on Saturday because that was the kind of guy he was. Let your soulshine Doug!
