Fled Gaza, help me stay in Canada again

Hello everyone,

I am Mervat Zoroub-Ghaboun , a Palestinian with Canadian Permanent residence which I've had since 2019. I have initiated this GoFundMe page to seek assistance in this challenging time. Providing some background, In 2019, I lived in Vancouver, B.C., before returning to Khan Yunis, Gaza. Leaving was not an easy decision. For more than a month, I lived with my siblings in a house that welcomed more than 61 distant relatives who fled northern Gaza, but Khan Younis wasn’t much safer. Homes were bombed, we drank water meant for washing dishes, there was nothing. I was able to escape and am currently staying in the Niagara region.

As you may be aware, Canada will not offer financial support to people fleeing Gaza and rent here is very expensive. I am still working to get the rest of my family out of Gaza but in the mean time I need help to stay here safely so I can help my family.

My rent is 1200 dollars a month, I was able to get a part time teaching job to cover some expenses but given how expensive rent is and how long the visa process is taking I need help from the community. This gofundme will allow me to pay rent for long enough to apply for visas for my family still suck in Gaza.
