SANS DFIR Summit 2016 logistics

SANS DFIR Summit is an anual conference held for IT security professionals to get together, share knowledge, the latest tools, the latest news and it gives everybody an opportunity to network with each other.  This year, it will be held in Austin, Texas on June 23rd-24th.

I submitted my reseach paper abstract at the end of 2015 and after a couple of months, I thought it had been thrown to the side but a month later, I was told that they want me to present at SANS DFIR 2016.  I hastily accepted but made SANS aware that I may have to cancel due to the logistics of flying from the UK to Austin, Texas as a student.

Unfortunately, I'm now in a position where I either need to magic up the funds or cancel.  As a student (almost graduated!), I've felt financial frustrations for the past 3-4 years and those financial constraints are about to take away a huge opportunity for me.  Anybody that follows my research or presence in the information security community knows that I like to give back to the community as much as possible and once I have attended SANS DFIR, I guarantee you that I will have a bunch of new ideas to present to the infosec community either online or at another conference at a later date.

The reason that I am so eager to make this happen is because SANS has taught me a ridiculous amount over the years.  I've never had the money to attend conferences so I've always done independant studying and with SANS DFIR Summit being such a prestigous conference, I would be incredibly disappointed if I had to cancel the opportunity.

These funds will be used to help cover the costs of flights, accommodation and commuting.
