On July 8th our second little boy, Finnian Isaac Scott, was born
Little Finn was diagnosed with a congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH) at our 20 week anatomy scan in February of this year. As soon as he was born he required breathing support through a ventilator and at barely 2 days old had a major reparative surgery on his diaphragm.
Finn is currently in the NICU on ECMO life support. We are unsure of how long we will have him in the NICU, but it’s looking like an extended period based on his complex diagnosis and care needs - for now we are just taking it one day at a time!
We have set up a CaringBridge page where we will keep everyone updated on his healing & growth and many people have asked how else they can help.
We genuinely did not know what to expect when we found out about Finn's diagnosis - but we are now realizing that it may be a longer and more intense process than we could've known or expected. With the demands of caring for both Rowan and Finnian, in addition to some mounting medical costs, we are finding that any financial help with these needs would be a true blessing.
We are so grateful for all of the support we have received already, and cannot express how loved and cared for we have felt during this process
