My beautiful husband Glen was suddenly admitted to hospital 2 months ago following an unexpected diagnosis of Acute Myeloid Leukaemia. Despite his courageous and determined fight to be on the right side of the stats, and presenting on the outside as fairly well for 7 weeks, he was suddenly smashed with an infection his body couldn't fight. We unbelievably lost Glen on 21 July 2025.

People have been asking how they can help. After much consideration, the girls and I kept returning to this one idea.

As you most likely know, Glen loved his family, his job and every other task he set himself. The biggest, most complex and personally rewarding of these was the restoration and rebuild of his beloved BJ42.

Glen learnt to weld, panel beat, spray paint, find and resolve auto electrical gremlins all by himself with help from You Tube, friends and Facebook specific groups.

This Landcruiser is his 3rd, after our HJ47 called Bruce, who drove us around Australia on our honeymoon, and our BJ42 LX called Colonel Mustard - yep yellow, which was too bouncy to be a useful family car when I was pregnant and with toddler.

Glen said we were only allowed to visit Uluru if we drove there, so that was the ultimate goal for this latest BJ42, called Shorty.

Shorty runs but is not yet ready for registration. Two weeks ago Glen created a list of things left to do to get Shorty up to rego standard.

He desperately did not want to leave me with the task of sorting this out (like he's seen on so many of these car restoration shows), but as it turns out that's where we headed and I do not have Glen's skills!

He finally agreed, while he was still fairly well, that he needed to get some outside help to get this old Shorty to rego and on the road for us all to enjoy, particularly his daughters.

So here it is. I need your help if you're happy to provide it. Whether it's dollars, advice, 3rd party recommendations or time and skills, Emily, Sammi, Kate and I would love your help to get Shorty on the road as per Glen's dream.
