My name is Taliyah Peacock, and I am 13 years old.
I was diagnosed with Ewing's Like Sarcoma in November of 2017.
        Ewing's Sarcoma is a cancerous tumor that tends to grow around your bones or soft tissue. It affects the cartilage or nerves in your bones or soft tissue. It is known to usually affect mostly children and teenagers from ages 10-20, the cause of this cancer is unknown.
        My tumor was found in the soft, spongy tissue of my right knee. One day I felt a pain in my knee, I went to the doctor, and was told that it was tendinosis. This made sense because I was in PE and then I started cheering, so we went along with what the doctor said. After a while, the pain didn't go away, and I was given a knee brace. The pain and irritation still did not stop, I went to the hospital and had a MRI done. On November 8th my mom, recieved a phone call and was given the news that I had cancer. That same day I had to go to UNC Chapel Hill so the doctors could take a closer look.
        I am currently on a 6-month chemotherapy treatment plan. I started chemo on December 7, 2017. I have to spend 5 days at Chapel Hill's Children's Hospital every 2 weeks in order to recieve my treatments. During this time I miss my family and friends very much, especially my 2 little brothers.
