Fight with Sarai in her battle with cancer.

Donation protected
This is Sarai.  Daughter, wife, mother, friend - my sister.  On January 10, 2019 we were given some of the worst news we could possibly imagine.   After going in just a few weeks before for a biopsy of a lump in her breast, she called me while I was at work and said, "It's positive."  My heart...our hearts shattered.  She was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma - triple negative.  That meaning that this type of cancer does not respond to hormone therapy and can tend to be more aggressive. But with all the advances in medicine today and some of the best doctors on her side, we were all optimistic.  Within a month after her first chemo treatment, she began losing her hair.  It was painful for her both emotionally and physically.   Finally came the day when she asked me to cut off all of her hair.  With my mom and dad, I buzzed my sister's hair completely.  This was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do but we made light of the situation by telling her she had one of the cutest bald heads we've ever seen.  That remains a fact.  We all kissed her newly bald head and continued on the journey with her.  Several months later, she was doing well and en route to her last chemotherapy and radiation treatment.  In August of 2019, she completed her final session of radiation and she was lucky enough to ring the bell because she was finally cancer free.  Follow-up CT scans showed that everything was clear and we could breathe easy.  However, in November of the same year she was admitted  to the hospital for severe stomach pain.  She was diagnosed with acute pancreatitis at that time.  Unfortunately, that wasn't all.   After also having a CT scan performed, three spots were found on her right lung.  Doctor's did not suspect these to be cancerous though.  After a bronchoscopy  and yet another biopsy, it was confirmed that one of these spots contained cancer cells.  Her oncologist wasted no time in starting chemo again and to say the least, we were devastated.   Within the same month, she was complaining about groin pain.  Finally, went to the hospital for it and the x-rays taken there were clear.  A MRI followed and showed a pelvic fracture  but also a suspicious lesion on her bone where the fracture was.  Doctors suspected this to also be cancerous.   Chemotherapy continues in order to treat the cancer in her lung.  Radiation was started again to target the cancerous lesion in her pelvis.  She starts immunotherapy  next week to try and use her own immune system to attack the cancer.  The cost of all these continued treatments and frequents hospital stays are extensive. We want her and her family to focus on her, her health and her overall well-being without the financial stress of the medical bills that are rolling in.  This will be a difficult task to accomplish on our own  which is why we are asking for your help to cover these costs.   Anything you can give to lift the financial burden is beyond appreciated. Regardless, we ask that you send your prayers, good thoughts and good vibes her way so that we can continue to enjoy this beautiful soul.
