Fight Like Shawn

While getting ready to take a shower, I noticed that my right breast was leaking a clear fluid. Immediately, I called my aunt who is an RN. After expressing my concerns, my aunt instructed me to run, not walk to get a mammogram. Needless to say, I followed my aunt’s instructions and on November 18th Dr. Stiles called with the results. The biopsies tested positive for cancer.

The news was overwhelming. During that time, I just opened my newest and biggest location. In addition to preparing to shoot a Christmas special for the cooking channel. I was embarking on one of my biggest film projects after my surprise with Good Morning America. With that said, I was determined to keep going. I thought that if I kept pushing, CheeseCaked would be able to sustain itself and provide for my children.

After intentional soul searching, I realized that to win this fight, I had to elevate all stress. That meant letting go of the business that I worked so hard to achieve and focus on my health. During this season,  I humbly ask for your prayers as well as your financial support. All monies will be contributed to my mortgage, utilities, and food. As well as gas to get to and from treatments, parking fees, and personal hygiene and self-care items.
